On December 4, 2012, there will be a public hearing on a new land condemnation project in Watauga and Ashe Counties. The topic will be the proposed U.S. 221 widening project, from U.S. 421 in Deep Gap to U.S. 221 Business/N.C. 88 in Jefferson. This road widening project will affect the properties, businesses, and homes of quite a few North Carolina residents.
The Pre-Hearing OPen House and Design Public Hearing will be held at Ashe County High School, located at 184 Campus Drive in West Jefferson. From 4pm to 6:30pm, NCDOT representatives will answer questions and receive comments about the road project. At 7PM, the formal presentation will begin, which will include an explanation of the proposed design, right of way and relocation requirements and procedures.
HensonFuerst Attorneys, which represents clients involved in land condemnation and inverse condemnation cases, will hold its own informational seminar on that road project in Watauga County – date and location to be announced later. Please feel free to contact us at 1-800-4-LAWMED if you would like to be notified of date, time, and location of our seminar.
We will be holding two additional informational seminars: One on the expansion of the Durham Expressway (Rte 147) on December 6; and one on the Wake Forest well water contamination problem, to be held on December 7. Both these seminars will be held in our Raleigh office, at 2501 Blue Ridge Rd, Suite 390 (times to be announced at a later date). If you would like to be notified when we have more details, please call us at 1-800-4-LAWMED.
