The Facts Are:

There have been suspicions in the medical community for more than 45 years that regular use of talc products could lead to an increased risk of developing ovarian cancer. A 1992 study published by the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) found that women who regularly used talcum powder in their genital area had a “significantly elevated” risk of developing ovarian cancer.

New evidence suggests that Johnson & Johnson was aware of the link between talcum powder use and ovarian cancer for years, but chose not to add warning labels to its Johnson’s Baby Powder® and Shower to Shower® products.

15,000 women die every year due to ovarian cancer. It is now estimated that up to 20% of ovarian cancer diagnoses may be linked to regular talc use.

By failing to warn consumers of the serious health risks posed by talc products, Johnson & Johnson jeopardized the health of thousands of women.
