Type: Road Widening
Affected County: Robeson
This project stretching from US 301 (Exit 22) to I-95 Business/US 301 (Exit 40) will widen I-95 to eight travel lanes and upgrade several bridges and interchanges. The project is broken into three sections:
- Section A covers construction between mile makers 21-29,
- Section B covers construction for mile makers 29-37, and
- Section C covers construction between mile markers 37 and 40 in Hope Mills (part of the Fayetteville Outer Loop project).
The total cost of the project is estimated to be more than $308 million. Property acquisitions are expected to begin in the summer of 2021.
