Project #U-3431
Type: Road Widening
Affected County: Craven
This project will be a four-lane divided roadway, consistent with the super-street design that the NC DOT is installing all across the state. The entire project will be three miles, with sidewalks. Speeds will range from 40 to 50 mph. The entire project will cost $35,031,000, of that $8,466,000 being allocated for property acquisition. NC DOT recently announced that Alternative Route #3 is the chosen route, and is now proceeding forward with the schedule. It is anticipated that acquisition will begin in 2021, and construction in 2023.
