Business owners beware, unless you specifically include yourself as a covered employee on your business’s Worker’s Compensation Policy, you are most likely not covered as the owner. The majority of Worker’s Compensation Policies contain an exclusion which generally reads that if you are the owner of a business, you are not covered under the policy unless you specifically include yourself as a covered employee. This could have terrible consequences if you the business owner are injured and are not covered on your own policy. So, business owners, be sure to check your policy closely.
