North Carolina Truck Accident Seriously Injures Five People

March 7, 2013

North Carolina Truck Accident Monday was responsible for seriously injuring five people. The Gaston Gazette released an article stating the incident happened at 2:30 p.m., on U.S. 321 South in the town of Dallas.

A spokesman for the North Carolina Highway Patrol, Sgt. D. Litaker, explained a loaded tractor-trailer was driving along the highway near Grier Beam Boulevard Bridge when its driver suddenly became distracted and plowed into the rear-end of a Toyota van. The truck then skid as it folded into a jackknifed position and slammed into three other vehicles.

A total of five people were seriously injured as a result of the crash and each was rushed to a local hospital in order to receive treatment. One victim’s heart stopped, but they were revived and are expected to fully recover with time.

While troopers are continuing to investigate the accident, Litaker added the driver of the tractor-trailer will likely face charges.

The moments after a traumatic accident can be an extremely confusing time, leaving many victims unsure of how to handle the situation.
