Parents File $10 Million North Carolina Wrongful Death Lawsuit For The Loss of Their Son

October 3, 2013

Childcare facilities, by law, have a responsibility to protect the health and safety of the young lives put into their hands by parents each day. The North Carolina Wrongful Death Lawyers with HensonFuerst explain that any failure to do so could result in the responsible parties being held liable for damages.

Such claims were made after an incident of neglectful care at a Fort Bragg, North Carolina, day care center resulted in the death of an infant. According to an article from WRAL News, the parents are seeking $10 million in damages for their loss.

Video surveillance footage shows the child being dropped off at the facility by his parents at approximately 5:30 a.m. He is then left alone in a seat for almost two hours before being moved to a mat to sleep, where workers then lay him on his stomach. Eight minutes later, the infant can be seen visibly struggling to breathe. Two workers pass the child and tell caregivers there is a potential problem with the victim, but caregivers ignore the claims. At 7:32 a.m., a caregiver realizes the child is not breathing and seeks assistance.

HensonFuerst and their team of North Carolina Personal Injury Lawyers recognize how difficult the loss of a loved one to another person’s negligence can be. That is why the firm is hopeful a decision in the case will bring a sense of closure to this tragic incident for the family of the victim.
