Oh, my…it is not a good year for McNeil Consumer Healthcare. The maker of popular Tylenol and Benadryl (which went through recalls earlier this year) is now recalling more than 13 million packages of Rolaids. The reason: The company has received consumer complaints of foreign materials, including metal and wood particles.
The affected products are ALL lots of Rolaids Extra Strength Softchews, Rolaids Extra Strength plus Gas Softchews, and Rolaids Multi-Symptom plus Anti-Gas Softchews (distributed in the United States).
According to the McNeil recall notice:
The company’s investigation has determined that the materials were potentially introduced into the product during the manufacturing process at a third party manufacturer. While the risk of serious adverse health consequences is remote, McNeil Consumer Healthcare advises consumers who have purchased these recalled products to discontinue use.
If you bought one of the recalled products and want a refund, contact McNeil for instructions at 1-888-222-6036, or check online at www.rolaids.com. If you have health concerns, please contact your physician.
