Retain All Documents Subsequent to Injuries

Document, document, document.  According to Joey Hodgin, one of the best things an injured worker can do is to save every scrap of paper they receive subsequent to an injury in the workplace.  These documents would include check stubs, W2 forms, letters from their employer, letters from the worker’s comp insurance company, any Industrial Commission Forms, out of work notes from the doctor, medical records, photographs, video footage.  Many times a hearing of a disputed claim does not happen until months or sometimes years after the initial injury.  Those first pieces of documentation can sometimes be crucial in winning a claim.
