Riding motorcycles is a hobby that has a passionate and dedicated following. Most riders will tell you though that the camaraderie bikers share with one another comes second only to motorcycle safety.
To help spread this message, the attorneys with HensonFuerst Injury Lawyers recently held a bike night at the Harley-Davidson dealership in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. The event took place on the night of Friday, June 13th, and featured food, live music, and plenty of motorcycles to check out.
As motorcyclists mingled and swapped stories, our team was spreading the message of motorcycle safety by sharing the importance of practicing certain behaviors and habits each time you ride. These include:
- Wearing A Helmet and Other Safety Gear– Not only is wearing a helmet required by law, but doing so can significantly reduce the chances of injury or death in the event of an accident.
- Get Educated– A majority of motorcyclists involved in serious accidents have little to no formal training on how to operate a motorcycle. That’s why training courses are available across North Carolina to teach motorcyclists of all skill levels the techniques that are necessary to stay safe.
- Be Aware– Most motorcycle accidents are the result of another motorist failing to yield to a motorcycle. Riders should remember this and always ride defensively as if to assume other drivers do not see you.
