U-2412A, also known as the High Point Road Widening project, is intended to meet the projected influx of traffic in Guilford County.
The entire project extends from SR 1486 (Greensboro Road) to SR 4121 (High Point Road). However, this portion of the project involves widening, part on a new location, from SR 4228 (Vickrey Chapel Road) to I-74/US 311 Bypass.
Right of way acquisition for this project began in April 2017 and construction is scheduled to begin 2019.
