The North Carolina Department of Transportation is now moving forward with Section B of project U-4902.  Section B will widen a 2-mile stretch along U.S. 17 Business (Market Street) between Colonial Drive and Martin Luther King, Jr. Pkwy. and will include a median.  There are approximately 70 property owners who will be impacted.  The majority of owners affected include commercial businesses, churches, condominium assoications, and hotels.

Right of way acquisition begins Spring 2018, construction begins 2020.
